After enjoying another much-needed "sleep-in" day, we got up and headed by van to Fazana, Croatia (a little fisherman’s
village about 25 min. away from Pula).
Our hotel
receptionist arranged for a shuttle to pick us up and take us to village where
we would board a boat and spend the day touring the Brijuni National Park, a
large network of islands off the coast of Croatia.
We arrived at Fazana about an hour before we had to board
the boat which gave us plenty of time to walk around and explore.
The downtown area by the marina was really nice. There were several restaurants, caffee and
gelato bars, souvenir shops, etc. We
walked the promenade for a bit but the kids enjoyed playing in the park and
throwing rocks in the water the most!
The people of Fazana (as were all the people we met in
Croatia) were very nice and many spoke English (or offered English menus). Our kids made friends with this one little
girl who lived there. It turned out her
parents own a villa in town and gave us their contact information for future
stays. Although we didn't stay there,
if the villa is anything like the people, I’m sure the stay would be fantastic. It was Villa Palazzo if you want to try it out…tell
them Jackson and Maddy sent you!
After getting a caffeine fix we boarded the boat for
Brijuni!
