Wissembourg, France

We took our first train ride to France, today!

We ended up taking a USO "Learn to Ride the German Train" tour to Wissembourg in the Alsace region of France.  The tour guide was super friendly and knowledgeable about the German train system.  It was nice to have an English guide to help answer questions and figure things out for the first time!  We'll definitely make use of the train system while we are here...

"Baby Abby" had to ride the train too!
As for Wissembourg, it was a lovely little village.  I wish I had more pictures; however, my camera battery died on the train ride down.  Thankfully, a very nice woman on our tour emailed me a few pictures she took of our family throughout the day!

While we were there we walked around downtown, toured the St. Peter and St. Paul's Church, grabbed some macaroons and chocolate eclairs from Daniel Rebert's (twice), played in a local park, and walked the rampart's trail around the town's old walls/fortifications and canals.

We still aren't sure what we had for lunch, the restaurant we chose didn't have translations and the waitress didn't speak English.  My husband intended to order a steak, but we think that turned out to be some sort of liver concoction??  Bleh.

It was a really nice trip...and we would go back in a heartbeat for those macaroons...we just have to remember to bring extra camera batteries and a pocket translator!
