Speyer, Germany (Technik Museum)

Today we took the family to Speyer, Germany to check out their Technik Museum.  We had a lot of fun looking at all the old automobiles, fire engines, trains, and planes...there is even a submarine and space-shuttle!

Our favorite part though was the huge play area in front of the museum with boat rides, go-carts, and a pirate ship playground!

However, the first stop on our journey was downtown Speyer for some lunch.  We ended up eating at a nice little restaurant right beside the Speyer Cathedral. (We weren't able to tour the church because of services but we'd like to come back and check it out!).

After lunch it was museum time!  For three adults it was 42 EUR (our kids were free).  We thought the admission was a little steep until we started going through it...it was HUGE and the kids had such an amazing time!

After going through the indoor portion of the museum we headed outside to see the submarine and airplanes...

Then we went on the coolest slide ever...straight out of a Boeing 747!

The rest of the afternoon was spent playing in the play area outside the museum...(we would totally come back just to visit this!).

We had an amazing day and can't wait to come back to Speyer again!

What is YOUR favorite thing to do in Speyer?
