Metz, France

Took a quick day trip to Metz, France today to see the Cathedral...and in one word, WOW!

The Cathedrale Saint-Etienne de Metz is one of the most gorgeous churches we've seen since we've moved to Europe...

...getting to it was a nightmare, though! Traffic was horrendous and we apparently underestimated the size of our vehicle compared to French parking dimensions...

Once we had successfully parked we walked down to the Tourist Office and got a map of the area.  Our first stop was the Cathedral.  Again, it was gorgeous!

Then, we took the kids to a local park to run off some energy, feed some swans, and ride some rides.

Parking is INSANE here, we saw this in the lot at the park!

We wanted to do the mini-train ride, but it was closed on the day we went.  They also had boat trips and other tours of the area but once we said the word "park" our kids were lost on anything else!

On the way back home we also stopped by Cora to get some yummy desserts (and stock up on some wine, don't judge).

It was a good day!
