Neunkirchen, Germany (Gondwana Praehistorium)

We took the kids to Gondwana Praehistorium today to check out "the worldwide biggest dinosaur-show with huge animatronic dinosaurs" and play in the Gondi's Dinowelt!

"What kid doesn't love dinosaurs? At the Gondwana Pre-Historium you can time travel through 300 million years of the evolution of our planet. Gondwana - Das Praehistorium recreates the sights, sounds and smells of ancient worlds in a series of elaborate environments populated with highly convincing robotic animals and rich plant life.
The prehistoric landscapes progress through evolutionary history, linked by passageways which illuminate exotic panoramas with fossils - including the rare skeleton of the largest animal ever to walk the Earth, as well as paintings, globes, films and concise signage. Leading experts in paleontology, botany, interior design and special effects were involved in the design and construction of Gondwana, making it the most dynamic, convincing and comprehensive presentation of ancient life yet made. Audio guides for everyone and hands-on activities for children complete the Gondwana - Das Praehistorium experience."

After we went though the museum (English audio guides available) we let the kids explore the interactive exhibits at the end.  Then it was off to the Dinowelt to let the kid's play in the huge indoor play area (separate admission fee).

I think we had as much fun as the kiddos!  We left tired and happy...another "Family Fun Day" success!
